Why cant I?

In theory, the program is becoming more valuable in the world of third and fourth grade literature circles. In practice though, I continue to be slowed by the emergent typers of the third and fourth grade. We have been working with Mavis Beacon, but if there are other learning opportunities that will help third and fourth graders become better, less frustrated young typers it would be greatly appreciated...

We have had done some interesting writing that we otherwise would not have, but getting it from the paper to the keyboard has actually brought (in one case) a student to tears...argh...The highest flyers continue to produce, and the mid rangers dabble...

Now that the wheels are in motion, and my students are able to use the site I plan to use digital writing as an add-on to my writing program...we have had the chance to post a quick write based on 2 prompts, and are developing a story that each student will have a chance to add on to...the next step will be to have an actual assignment that is curriculum based that students are responsible for doing on their own....this, along with the basic logistics of teaching 3rd and fourth graders to type will be my challenge...

I may not be a rocket scientist but I am not a full fledged idiot...

Students cannot get into their work space...

I am frustrated...

why cant the students create a blog entry?

When I go to the class members tab and click a name, and the student name appears

in bold when I create a blog entry or try to go to the assignment I created it only enters my name!!

My students are not able to log into the classroom site, and type...

I have had students enter the ywp site and submit work, but whenever I have a student log into their own name it kicks them back to the front page and my name is the only one that appears..

How do I find the time to learn the information--to be informed enough--to be professional enough to teach about the newest technology?  My students should have access and should be informed, and as the shepard of the flock it is my obligation to do write by them...

Teachers all lose sleep at night worrying about "how can I," and by exploring this new domain I am giving myself one more reason to visit the couch at 3am a few times each month.

Let me be not afraid. There are many other things to fear.
