Digital Teachers Project

The Digital Teachers Project was created by Young Writers Project as a placel for teachers to share ideas, receive online training and access some of the best work and practices in digital writing. YWP provides:
- A library of Best Practices in digital writing. (See block at the top right of this site)
- A Master's Level Practicum for teachers through St. Michael's College. (All filled for 2009/10, sorry. Info on summer course will be posted in January.)
- Teacher Blogs from Vermont and all over the world
- A space to share your ideas, concerns and experiences. Just sign up and write!
YWP also offers:
- Digital Writing Classrooms for teachers and schools. These are leading-edge sites designed for teachers to incorporate all forms of multimedia into the writing classroom. These sites are being used by classes in English, Foreign Languages and Social Studies. For more, go to ywpschools.net. To see a student-created movie about one of our. Digital Writing Classrooms, click here.
- A safe online community for youngwriters in school and after school: youngwritersproject.org.
- YWP Newspaper Series: With the help of students and teachers, we have a yearlong schedule of prompts to stimulate student writing. These prompts can be used in class and can give students an added purpose to their writing -- they might get published in one of six daily newspapers! Students or teachers can submit best work to youngwritersproject.org for consideration for publication in any or all of the daily newspapers in Vermont and New Hampshire where student work is published each week.
- Workshops. YWP holds a variety of workshops, including in-class sessions on writing. Among the workshops planned for 2009/2010:
- Comedy Writing.
- Blogging
- Video
- Author forums. In the fall of 2009, YWP will be holding author events and online forums with famous Vermont and New Hampshire authors.
- College Mentors Program. Top, trained college students from Castleton State College and University of Vermont provide feedback online to students during the school year on youngwritersproject.org.
